We completely agree with his findings, which is why at Content Amp we like to practise what we preach. Never trust a content marketing agency that doesn’t invest in content marketing themselves.

The first is because we know it works and it generates results; it is fundamental to how we grow our business. The second is so that we can test new ideas. We continually test ideas and then share them with our clients. We spend our own company time and money on these tests, so that we can offer them to our clients knowing that they work. To celebrate our rebrand as Content Amp in March we decided to create a guide to content marketing that is available to download from our website. The guide is 5,000+ words and available in PDF format. We have used the guide in social media, guest blogging, PR and display. The end result? Over 600 downloads in just 2 months and 30 new direct sales as a result of the download. That’s the power of thought leadership and offering customers content that they want to read. It’s a guide that continues to generate engagement with our site and invaluable sales leads for our sales team.
News and blog content for content marketing success
We publish a minimum of one blog post per day to our blog. The content is linked from our home page; Google and other search engines love it. Our content is getting shared on social networks, we have many new followers on Google+ and Twitter, plus, for one of our main target keywords – ‘Content Marketing Agency’ – we are now ranking on the first page of Google.
Infographics for content marketing success
Infographics work extremely well in generating engagement, boosting backlinks and general amplification of your brand. Our recent Content Marketing Landscape in 2013 Infographic surprised even us though.
To promote the launch we published a press release and contacted most of the companies listed via Twitter, who subsequently re-tweeted and shared the infographic to their own audiences. The end result: our infographic has gone viral.
We have generated in excess of 300 links to the website, all from highly relevant sources; more social mentions than we can ergh mention and several extremely promising new contacts as a result. We’ve also generated plenty more sales leads to keep our Commercial Director Francis Turner and the sales team busy.
